Dr Julie Wardrop
PhD MBSR DHyp
Mindfulness Coach
I am a certified MBSR teacher with over 15 years of personal meditation experience, including 3 years as an ordained Buddhist nun. I successfully completed my MBSR teacher training with the European Institute of Mindfulness-Based Approaches and have also completed MBSR and MBCT-Ca (mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for cancer) teacher training with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University.
A cancer survivor, I am dedicated to making sure those affected by cancer are able to access services which support them physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually throughout their cancer journey (including mindfulness) and am the CEO of CANDU, the Dundee Cancer Support Network (a patient-led charity) and a patient voice for Macmillan Cancer Support in Dundee.
Following a successful career as a cancer research scientist, I also have a personal interest in mindfulness research and attend regular events including the international mindfulness conference in Chester (CMRP). I adhere to the UK and Ireland Guidelines of Good Practice and maintain a strong ethical approach to my professional practice.
